Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CCTV Technician to join our dynamic security and surveillance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarm systems, fire alarms, and access control devices. Your expertise will ensure the safety and security of client premises through precise system setup, effective diagnostics, and seamless remote access solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects across various industries, utilizing your technical skills to deliver reliable security solutions that protect assets and enhance safety.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and calibrate CCTV surveillance systems, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and other security hardware according to schematics and technical specifications.
Conduct routine maintenance checks and troubleshoot issues related to low voltage wiring, cabling, power supplies, and network connectivity to ensure optimal system performance.
Utilize hand tools and power tools to assemble, modify, or repair security equipment in construction or retrofit environments.
Develop system design layouts for new installations and upgrades using schematics, remote access software, and telecommunication standards.
Test security systems for proper operation by simulating alarm scenarios and verifying sensor responses; document all testing procedures thoroughly.
Collaborate with clients during site visits to assess security needs; provide expert recommendations on system enhancements or upgrades including alarm system sales opportunities.
Maintain detailed records of installation activities, service reports, incident logs, and system configurations for future reference and compliance purposes.

Requirements

Proven experience as a service technician in security systems or related fields such as construction or electrical work.
Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and telecommunication standards relevant to surveillance systems.
Mechanical aptitude with experience handling hand tools, power tools, schematics interpretation, and lock smithing techniques.
Familiarity with low voltage wiring practices including cabling for CCTV, sensors, fire alarms, access control panels, and alarm systems.
Understanding of system design principles for surveillance networks incorporating remote access software and security protocols like NEC (National Electrical Code).
Electrical experience with power supplies, circuit troubleshooting, and integration of various sensors into comprehensive security solutions.
Ability to read technical schematics accurately; experience with IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors deployment, and surveillance hardware installation is preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently in field service environments under tight deadlines.
