Full Job Description

Black Arrow Capital is hiring an Options Trader / Derivatives Analyst to support equity options, index derivatives, volatility strategies, and portfolio hedging.

You will work directly with senior portfolio managers to research trade opportunities, analyze risk, monitor live positions, and contribute to portfolio decisions. This is an investment-facing role, not an operations or back-office position.

Responsibilities

Research equity and index options trading opportunities
Analyze implied volatility, realized volatility, skew, term structure, and Greeks
Develop and evaluate derivatives, volatility, and hedging strategies
Run scenario analysis, stress testing, and portfolio risk models
Monitor live positions, P&L, exposures, catalysts, and expirations
Support trade structuring, position sizing, hedging, and exits
Build options analytics and automate workflows using Excel, Python, or R
Present trade ideas and risk recommendations to portfolio managers

Required Qualifications

Two to four years of experience in options trading, equity derivatives, volatility, structured products, quantitative research, or portfolio analysis
Certified Futures and Options Analyst (CFOA) designation
Strong knowledge of options pricing, Greeks, volatility, spreads, and hedging
Advanced Excel skills
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

Experience at a hedge fund, asset manager, proprietary trading firm, investment bank, market maker, or derivatives desk
Python or R experience
Experience with Bloomberg, backtesting, portfolio analytics, or volatility modeling

While a lot of the workflow will be remote, you will be expected to be physically present in the offices on certain specific days of the year.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
