Full Job Description

Risk Adjustment Coder

Care Connectors is seeking an experienced Certified Risk Adjustment Coder to join our growing team. This role is a remote, temp-to-hire plays a key role in supporting Care Connectors’ Mission to improve documentation quality and ensure compliance risk adjustment reporting.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Certified Risk Adjustment coder is responsible for accurately reviewing, analyzing, and abstracting ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes from medical records. This role requires strong technical coding expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to meet high standards for accuracy and productivity.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs on-going chart review and assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes for risk adjustment.
Strong knowledge of CMS-HCC and ACA risk adjustment models and ICD-10-CM coding guidelines
Identify diagnosis and chart level deficiencies and communicate opportunities for provider education for documentation improvement.
Consistently maintain a minimum 95% accuracy on coding quality audits.
Meet or exceed productivity Expectations as defined by project requirements.
Maintain current knowledge of ICD 10 CM codes, CMS documentation requirement and state and federal regulations

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/GED required. Associate degree preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of coding experience in a health care organization.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook.
Active CPC, CRC, RHIT, RHIA, and/or CCS certification required.
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work flexible work hours to meet the needs of the business.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Pay Range: $24 to $30 per hour.

This is temp-to-hire to hire (1099) position with the opportunity for a full-time role based on performance and business needs.

Work Location: Remote – US Only
