Full Job Description

The Role

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) owns the commercial and strategic relationship for a portfolio of Bloomfire's enterprise customers. You're responsible for retention, expansion, and account growth, and your compensation reflects those outcomes. You'll build relationships with executives and technology strategists, lead account planning and QBR motions, identify and close upsell and expansion opportunities, and partner with the Customer Success Manager to ensure customers are achieving measurable ROI. This is a high-impact, revenue-generating role for someone who's comfortable with technical audiences, C-suite conversations, and contract negotiations.

What You'll Own

Own all commercial motions for your accounts: renewal, expansion, upsell, and contract execution
Drive Net Revenue Retention (NRR) across your portfolio — this is your primary success metric
Build and maintain a multi-threaded account map that includes sponsor, champion, economic buyer, IT and AI stakeholders, and political risk at each account
Lead account planning: document customer goals, success metrics, risks, and growth opportunities on a rolling basis
Run quarterly and annual Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), in partnership with the Customer Success Manager
Own ROI documentation and value storytelling for each account; make the business case for renewal and expansion
Manage the renewal process end-to-end: timeline, negotiation, and close
Identify and execute expansion opportunities, from initial discovery through contract
Proactively and continuously ID renewal risks — org changes, budget cycles, new leadership, competitive threats — and develop a mitigation plan
Maintain accurate CRM hygiene — pipeline, account health, and renewal forecasts
Collaborate with Marketing on reference programs, case studies, and customer advocacy opportunities

Qualifications

5+ years in account management, enterprise sales, or customer success with a commercial focus in B2B SaaS
Track record of meeting or exceeding NRR or renewal targets
Demonstrated experience selling SaaS and PaaS to CIOs, enterprise architects, and technical stakeholders
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder accounts at the enterprise or Fortune 500 level
Strong commercial instincts — comfortable identifying expansion opportunities, building business cases, and negotiating contracts
Executive presence: confident presenting to and building relationships with C-level and VP-level stakeholders – especially CIOs
Background in value-based selling or ROI-driven account planning methodologies
Experience with formal account planning frameworks (e.g., MEDDIC, SPICED)
Disciplined CRM user with strong pipeline management habits
Bachelor's degree required
Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Nice to Have

Experience in knowledge management, enterprise collaboration, or adjacent SaaS categories
Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, ChurnZero, or similar CRM/CS platforms
