Full Job Description

Contract / Project-Based | Remote & Occasional Onsite Opportunities

We are an established Managed Service Provider (MSP) seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant to collaborate with our technical team on client projects and support engagements.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity and is particularly well suited for independent consultants and technology business owners who have availability for additional client work.

Rather than a traditional full-time position, we are looking to develop an ongoing consulting relationship with a Business Central expert we can engage as client needs arise.

What You'll Do

Depending on the engagement, responsibilities may include:

Consult with clients on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central requirements, configuration, implementation, and optimization.
Assess existing Business Central environments and recommend improvements based on business and operational requirements.
Configure Business Central modules, workflows, permissions, reporting, and business processes.
Assist with new Business Central implementations, upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
Troubleshoot functional and technical issues within Business Central environments.
Support integrations between Business Central and Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure, and third-party applications.
Assist clients with financial management, purchasing, sales, inventory, order processing, and related ERP workflows.
Perform data migration, validation, testing, and implementation support.
Provide client training, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
Work collaboratively with our MSP engineering, project management, and client-facing teams.
Provide remote consulting and, when mutually agreed upon, occasional onsite support.

What We're Looking For

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Experience implementing, configuring, supporting, or optimizing Business Central for SMB and mid-market organizations.
Strong understanding of Business Central functionality, including areas such as:
General Ledger and financial management
Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
Sales and purchasing
Inventory and warehouse management
Fixed assets
Reporting and analytics
Workflow and approval processes
Experience with Business Central migrations, upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with the broader Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, and Azure, is highly desirable.
Experience with AL development, extensions, APIs, or Business Central integrations is a plus.
Strong client-facing consulting and communication skills.
Ability to independently assess requirements, recommend solutions, and complete assigned projects.
Previous experience working with an MSP, Microsoft Partner, VAR, or consulting organization is a plus.

We are especially interested in speaking with professionals who already operate their own consulting or technology business and have room in their schedule for additional projects.

If you have your own client base but would like to supplement your workload by partnering with an established MSP, this opportunity offers the ability to:

Take on additional Business Central projects as your availability permits.
Maintain your existing consulting business and client relationships.
Collaborate with an experienced MSP technical team.
Expand your exposure to different industries and Business Central environments.
Build an ongoing relationship that can lead to additional consulting engagements.

Engagement Structure

This is a 1099 independent contractor consulting opportunity, not a traditional salaried position. Projects and hours will vary depending on client requirements, consultant expertise, and availability.

We are interested in developing long-term relationships with qualified independent consultants who can become trusted resources for Business Central engagements as opportunities arise.
