About NASPGHAN Foundation:
The NASPGHAN Foundation funds and supports the physician and patient education and research missions of NASPGHAN. The NASPGHAN Foundation was founded by the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), a professional society of more than 3,000 members in the pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition community, to promote awareness and research of pediatric digestive and nutritional disorders.
The NASPGHAN Foundation promotes research, education, and awareness of these and other conditions. The Foundation creates patient education materials for families and children. The Foundation also develops educational materials for medical professionals including slide sets, webinars, web-based education modules, and a variety of other tools which aid practitioners in the care of children with digestive disorders.
Position Summary:
NASPGHAN and the NASPGHAN Foundation seeks a strategic, relationship-driven team member to serve as its Director of Programs and Advancement. This role executes the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Foundation’s research, education, and clinical initiatives while driving organizational growth through proposal development, partnerships, and strategic advancement.
The Director implements the Foundation-funded programs which meaningfully support the pediatric gastroenterology community, accelerate scientific discovery, and improve the health and well-being of children with gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders. This position reports to the CEO and Executive Director and works closely with NASPGHAN Foundation leadership, NASPGHAN staff, committees, donors, and external partners in a project management role for Foundation funded project implementation.
Key Strategic Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Strategic Project Management – 80%
- Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of NASPGHAN Foundation-funded programs, including research grants, clinical awards, training initiatives, and in-person and virtual educational offerings.
- Ensure donor- funded programs align with NASPGHAN’s mission, strategic priorities, and the evolving needs of pediatric GI clinicians and researchers.
- Manage program cycles, application processes, manage review committees, coordinate award notifications, and develop outcomes reports to meet donor reporting requirements.
- Organize onsite Foundation funded programs and events in partnership with staff and program sponsors.
- Track program outcomes, impact metrics, and long-term results to demonstrate value and inform future investments.
- Collaborate with NASPGHAN staff and volunteer leaders to support programmatic implementation across both the Foundation and the society.
Advancement & Donor Engagement – 10%
- Partner with the CEO and Executive Director and Foundation Leadership to strategically develop programs and execute a comprehensive advancement strategy that strengthens donor relationships, broadens brand awareness of the Foundation, and expands philanthropic support.
- Cultivate and steward individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and industry supporters.
- Implement Foundation-funded programs while strategically considering growth opportunities to further advancement of the Foundation’s mission.
Strategic Partnerships & Business Development – 10%
- Identify and pursue new strategic partnership opportunities that enhance program reach, funding, and innovation.
- Build strong relationships with academic institutions, clinical practices, industry partners, patient advocacy groups, and other stakeholders in pediatric GI, hepatology, and nutrition.
- Support collaborative initiatives that advance research, clinical care, and professional development across the field.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in public health, nonprofit management, biomedical sciences, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in project management, nonprofit or association management, philanthropy, or healthcare-related organizations.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, or business development.
- Experience working with scientific, medical, or research communities strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and collaborate effectively with volunteer leadership.
- Passion for improving child health and supporting the pediatric GI community.
Position Details:
- Job Type: Full-time, permanent
- Work Location: Fully remote position with occasional travel to the NASPGHAN national office in Spring House, PA, as needed.
