About Us

Kanter & Associates, PA, CPAs (dba Kanter Consulting Group) is a growth-oriented, full-service CPA firm providing tax, accounting, forecasting, and strategic advisory services. Based in Oldsmar, FL, we serve clients across Tampa Bay and nationwide.

This is a remote position with a preference for candidates in West Central Florida or the Washington, DC area.

Our Hiring Process

As part of our hiring process, selected candidates complete a structured first-round interview using Aecho.ai, a human insights engine designed to go beyond a resume and better understand how you think, communicate, and work.

This interview replaces a traditional initial video interview and helps us evaluate both technical capability and overall fit with our team.

What to expect:

Approximately 30 minutes to complete
A structured, in-depth interview completed on your own time

Invitations are extended only after an initial review of applications and resumes
Candidates complete a short set of qualifying questions before the interview to ensure alignment with the role
Your interview responses are reviewed by our hiring team

We understand this approach may be different from what you are used to and requires a meaningful time investment. We carefully and respectfully review every completed interview. Candidates who move forward will have the opportunity to connect directly with our team and further explore fit on both sides.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and year-end close activities; must be capable of performing all underlying accounting functions as needed
Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, trusts, and businesses, with responsibility for accuracy and compliance
Support and perform key functions including accounts payable, payroll processing, sales tax, tax planning, due diligence, and account setup
Communicate proactively with clients and internal team members to gather information, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery
Step in to prepare or review work based on firm needs, ensuring flexibility across engagements
Provide guidance, review support, and mentorship to junior staff while maintaining quality standards

Qualifications

CPA required
4+ years of public accounting experience
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
Ability to work effectively in a remote, team-based environment
High level of professionalism and confidentiality
