Veterinary Nurse Customer Care Team Member

Job Description

We are currently seeking to hire a US-based FULL-TIME (40 hours per week) Veterinary Nurse Customer Care Team Member. We would like this person to be able to start as soon as possible (given the hiring process and notice you would need to provide your current employer).

As a member of our Veterinary Nurse Customer Care Team, you would be responsible for providing support for our domestic and international user and customer base primarily through email, but with occasional phone calls needed to veterinary professionals. You would also be responsible for providing human-in-the-loop (HITL) verification for our dynamic and ever-growing AI-powered commercial pet food database.

Qualifications

Current veterinary technician/nurse license (RVT, CVT, LVT) is required.
5 years veterinary practice experience is highly desired.
Previous email-based and phone-based customer care experience.
Ability to embrace, master, and troubleshoot new technologies and help others to do the same.
Strong reading comprehension and problem-solving skills.
Excellent writing skills to communicate effectively to customers with professionalism, courtesy, empathy, and patience.
Competency in the use of Mac computers and Google Workspace.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and stay motivated and on-task.
Adaptable and responsive to changing responsibilities based upon company needs in this dynamic field/market.
Desire to help people and their animal companions with compassion and empathy is essential.
Self-awareness and willingness to ask for and accept help/support/training when needed.
Must be dependable, reliable, and on-time.
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally in fluent English.
If hired as a remote employee:
Must have a private and distraction free remote work location that allows you to focus solely on your work during your scheduled work hours.
Must have reliable and safe (we must be able to safelist a stable US-based IP address at your location) high speed internet connection at all times during your scheduled work hours.
Must have the ability to make phone calls as needed during your scheduled work hours. We will provide an app to make work-related calls if using a cell phone OR a VOIP phone if you wish to use that instead.

Wages & Hours

Starting Wage: $29.00 Per Hour

Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (in the US timezone you are in) Monday through Friday (with a half hour lunch, and two 10-minute breaks). Work hours may be different during training based upon your trainer's time zone and work schedule.

Davis Veterinary Medical Consulting, Inc., with a DBA of Balance It, is a small but diverse family-owned company with 17 employees (11 onsite and 6 remote) that includes a Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist, two engineers and numerous veterinary professionals on our staff and advisory board. We are a third-party certified & FDA registered human dietary supplement manufacturer and online software developer. Our focus is on the veterinary market with various patented products designed for dogs and cats used globally. We also created and support .

We have a custom-built, 9600 sf main facility located in Woodland, CA (next to Davis & Sacramento) that offers onsite employees a work environment with very high cleanliness standards, and plenty of natural lighting.
