Full Job Description

ENCON Evaporators, based in Hooksett, NH, is a premier manufacturer of wastewater minimization systems for industrial and commercial applications. Our solutions are also used in manufacturing process applications across industry. With 30+ years of industry leadership, we are expanding our Service team.

This role is designed for a "hands-on" expert who thrives on solving mechanical and process puzzles. While we value formal education, we highly prize real-world experience in water treatment facilities, industrial plants, or military technical roles. If you have a deep understanding of how water moves, is treated, and monitored/tested through complex systems, we want to talk to you.

Responsibilities

Field Execution: Lead the onsite installation, startup, and commissioning of ENCON systems at customer sites.
Process Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues not just within our equipment, but within the customer's broader treatment train (e.g., identifying why a membrane is fouling or why chemical flocculation is failing upstream).
Operator Training: Conduct "toolbox talks" and formal training sessions for plant operators to ensure they can run ENCON systems safely and efficiently.
Remote Support: Provide "over-the-shoulder" technical guidance via phone or video to customers experiencing equipment downtime.
Continuous Feedback: Work closely with our Engineering team to suggest "field-fixes" and design improvements based on your observations in the dirt and grease of real-world applications.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% (though typically 10-20%), primarily domestic with occasional international opportunities.

Preferred Background and Experience

Water Expert: 3–10 years of direct experience operating or servicing water/wastewater equipment. We are looking for specific familiarity with:
Pre-treatment: Clarifiers, DAF systems, and chemical injection/pumps.
Filtration: Media filters, Ultrafiltration (UF), and Reverse Osmosis (RO).
Dewatering: Filter presses, centrifuges, and sludge management.
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong experience with the "guts" of a system—pumps, motors, valves, and piping.
Controls & Electrical: Ability to read electrical schematics and perform basic troubleshooting on PLCs and VFDs.
Expertise in Thermal Systems: Proven experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial combustion systems, including burners, fuel trains (natural gas/propane), and safety interlocks, alongside a strong proficiency in HVAC/R systems and refrigerant management.
Documentation: A commitment to keeping clean logs, service reports, and expense records.

Skills and Qualifications

Education & Training: We value diverse backgrounds. This role is open to:
Candidates with Military Technical Training (e.g., Navy MMR/EM, Army Prime Power, etc.).
Graduates of Technical or Vocational schools (Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance).
Candidates with Wastewater Operator Licenses (Class I, II, III, or IV).
Degreed candidates are also welcome to apply.
Communication: Ability to speak the language of a plant floor operator while being professional enough to brief a Plant Manager.
Problem Solving: A "find a way" attitude. You should be able to look at a system failure and logically trace it back to the root cause.
Customer Service: A helpful, patient personality. You are the face of ENCON Evaporators when things aren't going perfectly for the client.
