Full Job Description

We are seeking a Visual Designer who can create clear, accurate, and visually engaging art assets for K–12 math instructional content. This role is responsible for interpreting art specifications, and producing high-quality visuals that align with instructional intent, mathematical accuracy, and production standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working with math-related visuals.

Responsibilities include:

Reading and interpreting art specifications to create instructional visuals and graphics for math problems and related content
Creating art assets that accurately reflect the mathematical models, representations, and instructional intent outlined in specifications
Identifying and correctly applying the appropriate visual models called out within art specifications
Ensuring visuals are clear, grade-level appropriate, and aligned with production and design standards
Naming, organizing, exporting, and placing finalized files into the appropriate production folders
Reviewing art specifications for clarity, accuracy, and feasibility prior to production
Communicating with Problem Designers and cross-functional teams to clarify unclear requirements or flag mathematically incorrect or inconsistent requests
Revising art assets based on stakeholder and reviewer feedback
Maintaining consistency across visual styles, layouts, and production workflows
Conducting self-reviews to ensure accuracy, file integrity, and adherence to naming conventions and organizational standards

Required Qualifications

Experience creating digital visuals, graphics, or production art assets
Ability to interpret written specifications and translate them into accurate visual deliverables
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and consistency
Familiarity with math-related visuals, diagrams, manipulatives, models, or instructional representations
Ability to identify inconsistencies or unclear requirements and communicate questions proactively
Strong organizational and file management skills, including adherence to naming conventions and folder structures
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a production-focused environment
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and incorporating feedback effectively

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on K–12 educational, curriculum, or math-related products
Familiarity with common elementary and middle school math visual models and representations
Familiarity with accessibility and readability best practices for instructional visuals
Experience using digital design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, PowerPoint, Figma, Canva, or similar platforms
Ability to identify potential instructional or mathematical inaccuracies within visual specifications

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
