Full Job Description

Senior Software QA Analyst (Oracle Cloud)

Location: Remote (Eastern Time Zone)
Preference: Candidates located near Knoxville, TN strongly preferred
Employment Type: W2 Contract (Long-term minimum 1year+)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software QA Analyst with strong Oracle Cloud application testing experience to join a high-performing technology team. This role is primarily focused on manual testing within Oracle Cloud environments, with the opportunity to contribute to test automation initiatives over time. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of enterprise systems by executing comprehensive test strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement across QA processes.

Key Responsibilities

Perform end-to-end manual testing of Oracle cloud-based applications, including functional, integration, and regression testing
Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements
Partner with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure full test coverage
Identify, document, and track defects through resolution using a test/defect management tool
Conduct API and web services testing to validate integrations and data flows
Write and execute SQL queries for backend data validation and troubleshooting
Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to sprint deliverables
Support root cause analysis and assist with production issue validation when needed
Contribute to test process improvements, including documentation and standardization
Assist in mentoring junior QA team members and promoting QA best practices

Nice to Have (Not Required)

Exposure to or experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., using C#, JavaScript, or Python)
Experience contributing to automation strategy or scripting as part of a broader QA evolution

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
Strong hands-on experience with manual testing of Oracle Cloud applications (e.g., Oracle Financials, ERP, or similar systems)
Experience testing APIs and web services
Proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Familiarity with defect tracking and work management tools such as Jira or similar platforms
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA lifecycle
Proven ability to collaborate with technical teams on defect triage and root cause analysis

Technical Environment

Oracle Cloud-based enterprise applications
API/Web Services testing tools (e.g., Postman or similar)
SQL-based data validation
Agile toolsets (e.g., Jira or equivalent)

Preferred Experience

Exposure to cloud environments, microservices architecture, or event-driven systems
Understanding of test data management and environment coordination
Prior experience supporting automation adoption initiatives

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Self-starter who can operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
