About the Position
This is a new role on a small, AI-native IT team. You will spend roughly half your week on the bread-and-butter work that keeps a regulated wealth management firm running: helpdesk, Microsoft 365 administration, Intune, Defender, account provisioning and offboarding, and the recurring security and compliance tasks that come with being SEC-registered.
The other half is where this role gets interesting. We are an AI-forward shop. We build internal agents, automations, and tools on Claude, Make.com, Copilot Studio, and the Microsoft stack, and we want you to build alongside us. Roughly 25-45% of your time is carved out for that work: pitch the project, scope it, build it, ship it. Mentorship comes from the IT Manager and the firm's two full-time AI Builders.
Working within a Distributed Workforce
This is a fully remote role. Approximately four times per year, we will pay you to fly out to our headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ to get an opportunity to connect with your colleagues in person and align on quarterly objectives. Beyond that, however, your primary interaction with your colleagues will be through the cloud-based tech stack we leverage to align our distributed workforce, which includes employees across the United States.
Notwithstanding the virtual nature of our model, at present, we are only hiring applicants who reside within the continental United States (excluding CA) to minimize HR and tax complexities and to keep our team within four time zones of each other.
Key Responsibilities
Provide front-line IT support and progressively take on administrative responsibility for the firm's Microsoft 365 environment, security operations, and internal automation.
- Triage and resolve IT support tickets from a fully remote team of approximately 50 employees, working in Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, Entra ID, Monday.com, and Make.com.
- Provision and offboard user accounts, manage license assignments, and assist with day-to-day access requests under the IT Manager's direction.
- Perform routine identity verification and password reset procedures consistent with the firm's security SOPs.
- Document recurring issues into SOPs and update existing documentation as workflows change.
Support the firm's Microsoft 365 administration cycle and grow into ownership of individual tasks.
- Support the IT Manager on the recurring Microsoft 365 administration cycle (Microsoft Daily Alerts review, spam exceptions, External Sender Banner sync, M365 change review, outdated apps blocking, and contractor onboarding).
- Progressively take ownership of individual Microsoft 365 administration tasks as competence grows, with explicit handoff from the IT Manager.
- Maintain technical documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Support the firm's security and compliance routine.
- Perform first-pass review of routine alerts (sign-in anomalies, user-reported phishing, device compliance) and escalate as the IT Manager's playbook directs.
- Support recurring compliance documentation tasks (banner exemption changes, device audit logs, weekly monitoring records).
- Execute repetitive security tasks under standard operating procedure, including password resets following identity verification and contractor access provisioning.
Build internal automations and AI tooling.
- Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive IT work through scripting, Make.com scenarios, and AI agents on the firm's Claude API.
- Scope, build, and ship small automation projects under the IT Manager's review.
- Bring outside curiosity into the role and pitch tools, agents, and scripts that the IT Manager and the AI Builder team can adopt or extend.
Qualifications
Required Soft Skills:
- Enthusiasm, integrity, and a commitment to live out the organization's five core values of transparency, collaboration, curiosity, visionariness, and hustle.

- Intellectually curious, with the ability to learn new tools, platforms, and processes on the job.
- Patient and clear when helping non-technical teammates work through technical problems.
