Site Selection Manager
Location: Remote, U.S.
Compensation: $80,000–$120,000 annually
About Outlaw Ventures
Outlaw Ventures identifies and advances land, power, and infrastructure opportunities for large-scale data center and digital infrastructure development.
We operate with a lean, entrepreneurial team and move quickly. Our work sits at the intersection of land, power, GIS, infrastructure, and real estate development, and we rely on strong execution to turn early-stage opportunities into development-ready sites.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Site Selection Operations Manager to help run the engine behind our site-selection and land-development pipeline.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, analytically minded, and comfortable coordinating across multiple workstreams at once.
You’ll work closely with our GIS, land acquisition, power development, legal, and site-development teams to make sure opportunities move cleanly from initial screening through diligence, site control, and development handoff.
This is not a passive support role. You’ll own follow-up, maintain the source of truth for active opportunities, flag missing information and risks, and help build the systems that allow our team to move faster as our pipeline grows.
If you have 1–3 years of experience in commercial real estate, renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, GIS, land acquisition, economic development, brokerage, civil/environmental consulting, or a related field — and you want to build a career in data center site selection — we’d like to hear from you.
What You’ll Own
Site Screening & GIS Coordination
You’ll coordinate the day-to-day GIS and site-screening workflow across our land and power teams.
That includes:
- Translating business needs into clear GIS requests, priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Tracking screening packages from request through completion
- Reviewing deliverables for completeness and consistency
- Helping standardize site-screening packages across key development criteria
- Coordinating analysis around parcels, transmission, power, gas, fiber, water, access, zoning, and environmental constraints
- Maintaining clear records of assumptions, source data, screening criteria, and completed work
- Building repeatable templates, workflows, and QA/QC processes
You’ll help keep every active land opportunity organized and moving forward.
You’ll:
- Maintain accurate records of land opportunities, ownership, status, deadlines, risks, and next actions
- Coordinate with landowners, brokers, internal stakeholders, consultants, and legal teams
- Assemble site summaries, maps, ownership research, diligence materials, and preliminary risk assessments
- Support tracking of LOIs, purchase and sale agreements, and other transaction materials
- Track title, survey, access, zoning, entitlement, environmental, geotechnical, utility, and infrastructure workstreams
- Maintain key-date and obligation trackers
- Coordinate clean handoffs from land acquisition into site development
Pipeline Management & Execution
You’ll help create a reliable operating system for the entire site-selection pipeline.
That means:
- Maintaining a single source of truth across active opportunities
- Preparing weekly updates on progress, blockers, risks, decisions, and next actions
- Tracking decisions and ownership
- Coordinating meetings, materials, notes, and follow-ups
- Routing routine questions and escalating issues appropriately
- Working across power, GIS, land, legal, and site-development teams
- Identifying process gaps and helping build better systems as we scale
What We’re Looking For
You’ll likely be a strong fit if you have:
- 1–3 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills
- Experience managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication
- The ability to identify missing information and flag risks early
- A high level of ownership and follow-through
- Comfort working independently in a fast-moving environment
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
- The ability to quickly learn new CRM, mapping, project-management, and data systems
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
Relevant backgrounds may include:
Commercial real estate, land acquisition, renewable energy, utilities, GIS, economic development, brokerage, infrastructure consulting, industrial development, civil engineering, environmental consulting, or related fields.
Nice to Have
These aren’t required, but they’ll help you ramp faster:
- Exposure to parcel research, zoning, permitting, title, survey, or environmental diligence
- Experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, or other spatial tools
- Familiarity with utilities, transmission, power, natural gas, fiber, or water infrastructure
- Experience supporting LOIs, PSAs, leases, or other real estate transactions
- Experience with Salesforce or another CRM/project-tracking platform
- Interest in data centers, powered land, infrastructure development, and energy
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you’ll have helped us:
- Build a clear and prioritized GIS request queue
- Improve the speed and quality of site-screening packages
- Maintain accurate, current records across the active land pipeline
- Reduce routine coordination and status questions reaching senior leadership
- Create better visibility into risks, deadlines, decisions, and next actions
- Standardize the handoff from land acquisition into site development
- Build repeatable processes that allow the company to evaluate more opportunities without adding unnecessary complexity
Who Thrives Here
You’ll do well at Outlaw Ventures if you are:
- Highly organized. You like creating structure where there isn’t any.
- Proactive. You don’t wait for someone to ask twice.
- Curious. You want to understand why a site works — not just update a spreadsheet.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. You can move forward even when you don’t have perfect information.
- Detail-oriented without losing the big picture.
- Entrepreneurial. You see broken processes and naturally want to improve them.
- Most importantly, you want to build expertise in one of the fastest-growing areas of infrastructure development.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
