Full Job Description

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Enterprise Architect for a remote opportunity. Candidate will provide enterprise-level architecture and technical leadership for a mission-critical IBM z/OS storage environment, balancing operational stability with modernization and strategic planning. The role requires deep mainframe storage expertise, strong collaboration, and the ability to drive improvements across a complex infrastructure environment.

Required Qualifications of the Enterprise Architect:

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience; six additional years of applicable experience may substitute for the degree.
9+ years of related IT experience, including at least 2 years in corporate planning or strategic development, which may be concurrent.
Extensive hands-on experience with IBM z/OS storage administration and enterprise storage environments.
Experience creating storage utilization and management reports, initializing and configuring DASD devices, and performing DFSMSdss dump and restore operations.
Strong experience with SMS client routines, ISMF, HSM configuration and administration, SMS storage group monitoring, and RMM administration.
Ability to support technical architecture, strategic planning, infrastructure improvement, and modernization initiatives.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
CMS / C2 Public Trust clearance is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Enterprise Architect:

Master's degree in a related discipline.
11+ years of related IT experience and 4+ years of corporate planning or strategic development experience.
Familiarity with Dino Software T-REX and UDM, Luminex Mainframe Virtual Tape, IBM TDMF for z/OS, Dell EMC PowerMax/SRDF, and zEDC.

Responsibilities of the Enterprise Architect:

Design, administer, and optimize IBM z/OS storage environments to support reliable enterprise operations.
Manage DASD, SMS, HSM, RMM, and related storage resources while monitoring utilization, capacity, and performance.
Develop, validate, and maintain SMS configurations and storage management processes using ISMF and related tools.
Execute DFSMSdss backup and recovery activities, including full-volume and logical dataset operations.
Provide architectural guidance and contribute to strategic technology planning, modernization, automation, and infrastructure improvement efforts.
Collaborate with operations and technical teams to resolve complex issues, improve service reliability, and document technical standards and solutions.

Work Location: Remote. EST hours.
