Full Job Description

Senior TPA Administrator / Equity Partner

Kirby Pension Partners (KPP) is a newly formed business providing comprehensive pension and retirement plan administration services, with a particular focus on the needs of ESOP-owned companies.

Our goal is simple: deliver technically sound administration with exceptional personal service. We believe retirement plan administration should be more than a compliance function—it should be a long-term partnership built on responsiveness, expertise, and trust.

In addition to pension administration, Kirby Pension Partners provides ESOP repurchase and sustainability studies and strategic support for companies navigating complex ownership transitions and transactions.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior TPA Administrator to join Kirby Pension Partners as an equity partner and play a foundational role in building the company.

This is not an employee position. We are looking for a business partner.

This is an opportunity for an experienced TPA professional who is interested in taking their career to the next level and having a meaningful ownership stake in the business they help build.

The successful candidate will work closely with the founder to establish the infrastructure, processes, technology, and service standards that will define Kirby Pension Partners. You will have a significant voice in how we build and deliver our TPA services from day one.

Your experience will help shape everything from software and technology requirements to administrative processes, quality controls, client service standards, and industry best practices.

As Kirby Pension Partners grows, you will take a leading role in developing the TPA practice, working directly with clients, and recruiting, training, and ultimately leading a team of TPA administrators.

Key Responsibilities

Help design and implement the company's TPA administration processes and workflows
Evaluate and establish software, technology, and systems requirements
Develop administrative procedures, controls, and best practices
Oversee the administration of retirement plans and ensure high-quality client service
Work directly with clients and serve as a trusted technical resource
Help establish the firm's standards for accuracy, responsiveness, and client communication
Develop and refine processes as the company grows
Recruit, train, mentor, and ultimately lead a team of TPA administrators
Contribute to strategic decisions regarding the growth and direction of the company
Help develop new services and opportunities within the ESOP and retirement plan marketplace

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an experienced TPA professional who has strong technical knowledge but is also interested in the business side of the industry.

The ideal candidate is someone who:

Has significant experience administering qualified retirement plans
Has a strong understanding of TPA operations, compliance, and best practices
Can work independently and make sound decisions
Enjoys solving problems and improving processes
Has excellent client communication skills
Wants more than simply managing a book of business
Is entrepreneurial and interested in building something from the ground up
Has the leadership skills and desire to eventually build and manage a TPA team

You do not need to be an entrepreneur today. What matters most is that you think like an owner and are excited about the opportunity to help create something.

The Partnership

No capital contribution is required.

The partner's ownership interest will be earned through a five-year vesting schedule, allowing the individual to build meaningful equity in the company through their contribution, expertise, leadership, and commitment to the business.

This is an opportunity to join at the beginning—not after the systems are built, the team is established, and the direction has already been decided.
