Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Precast Design Engineer specializing in Lifting and Tilt-Up Concrete to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves developing innovative structural designs for precast concrete elements, ensuring they meet all safety, building code, and project-specific requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structural engineering practices, construction regulations, and building information modeling (BIM) tools. Your expertise will contribute to delivering efficient, safe, and cost-effective precast solutions for large-scale construction projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities include creating detailed design drawings, performing structural analysis using advanced tools, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. This position offers an opportunity to work on challenging projects that push the boundaries of precast concrete technology while advancing your professional development in a collaborative environment.

Duties

Develop comprehensive structural designs for precast concrete elements, focusing on lifting and tilt-up applications, utilizing software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.
Perform detailed structural analysis using tools like Mathcad, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and other structural engineering practices to validate design integrity.
Create and review technical drawings and specifications ensuring accuracy and adherence to building codes and construction regulations.
Collaborate closely with project management teams to develop project schedules, coordinate design deliverables, and monitor progress.
Conduct building code analysis and ensure all designs comply with local and international standards for safety and performance.
Utilize BIM tools for system design, clash detection, and model coordination to optimize construction workflows.
Engage in client communication by presenting design concepts clearly and incorporating feedback effectively.
Support construction teams by providing technical guidance during installation phases and troubleshooting on-site issues related to precast elements.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including reports, calculations, and design revisions for project records.
Stay updated on advancements in civil engineering practices, steel and masonry structural design, geotechnical considerations, and construction regulations to continuously improve design quality.

Skills

Proficiency in project scheduling software and project management principles to ensure timely delivery of design milestones.
Expertise in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D for drafting and modeling tasks.
Strong knowledge of structural analysis tools including Mathcad, FEA software, and other relevant structural engineering practices.
Experience with building information modeling (BIM) tools for integrated system design and coordination.
Solid understanding of steel structural design, concrete structural design, masonry systems, and geotechnical engineering principles.
Familiarity with construction experience related to precast concrete installation processes.
Ability to interpret building codes and standards for building code compliance across various jurisdictions.
Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports, specifications, and project documentation.
Effective client communication skills for presenting designs clearly while managing expectations.
Knowledge of civil engineering principles including GIS applications for site analysis when applicable.
Awareness of construction regulations governing tilt-up concrete methods and lifting procedures.
