About AlphaRidge

AlphaRidge is a New York based managed IT and cybersecurity firm serving organizations in healthcare, financial services, and the public sector. We run an integrated Security Operations Center and Network Operations Center, which means monitoring, detection, and infrastructure operations sit under one roof rather than being handed between vendors. Our clients operate under HIPAA, NYDFS Part 500, SOC 2, and comparable obligations, so governance is built into how environments are designed and run rather than added afterward. We are a certified Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise.

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Systems Administrator to own the cloud platform layer of our managed services practice. This is a senior individual contributor seat, and it is the escalation point above our System Administrators for anything touching tenant configuration, identity, or cloud infrastructure.

Roughly 80 percent of our clients and prospective clients run Microsoft environments, so Microsoft 365 and Azure are where you will spend most of your time and where your depth must be strongest. The remainder run Google Workspace or mixed environments, and you will support those with the same standard of care. We are hiring for Microsoft depth and platform range, not Microsoft depth alone.

You will also lead tenant migrations, including cross platform moves, which are a recurring part of our project work. You will work alongside our SOC and NOC rather than running alerting yourself. When a security alert requires tenant level action, you are who the SOC escalates to.

What You'll Do

Own configuration, hardening, and lifecycle management of client Microsoft 365 tenants, including identity, conditional access, mail, collaboration, and information governance.
Design and administer Azure infrastructure, including networking, compute, storage, backup and recovery, role based access control, and cost governance.
Administer Google Workspace environments for the portion of our client base that runs them, including identity, mail routing, and directory management.
Serve as the senior escalation point for Level 2 and Level 3 issues across cloud identity, mail flow, licensing, and cloud workloads on either platform.
Plan and execute tenant to tenant, cross platform, and on premises to cloud migrations, including mailbox, file, and collaboration payloads, with cutover planning.
Administer endpoint management: device and application configuration, compliance policy, and modern enrollment.
Build and maintain PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation for provisioning, reporting, and repeatable configuration.
Implement and document identity standards including multifactor enforcement, privileged role governance, and application consent controls.
Partner with the SOC on tenant level response actions, and with the NOC on infrastructure alerting thresholds.
Maintain client environment documentation and runbooks to an audit ready standard.
Record all work and time accurately in the PSA, and follow change control on production changes.
Mentor System Administrators and Service Desk engineers on cloud platform fundamentals.
Participate in the weekly on call rotation.

What Success Looks Like

Escalated cloud platform tickets are resolved at root cause rather than recurring month over month.
Migrations land on schedule with no scope gaps against the signed statement of work.
Tenant configuration is held to a documented standard on every platform we support, and configuration drift is detected and corrected through routine review.
Identity controls are maintained to standard: multifactor enforcement, privileged role governance, and conditional access coverage.
Automation replaces manual configuration work, and the time saved is visible in ticket handling.
Documentation is current enough that another engineer can take an escalation cold.
Change control is followed without exception on production systems.

Required Qualifications

Six or more years in systems administration, with at least three years administering Microsoft 365 at tenant level.
Demonstrable production Azure experience: networking, compute, backup and recovery, and role based access control.
Advanced Entra ID experience including conditional access, hybrid identity, and privileged role management.
Strong Exchange Online administration, including mail flow troubleshooting, connectors, and message trace.
Working familiarity with Google Workspace administration, or the demonstrated ability to reach production competence quickly. Deep expertise is not required; platform range is.
Proven tenant to tenant or on premises to cloud migration delivery as a lead, not just as a participant.
Intune administration experience across device compliance and application deployment.
Working PowerShell proficiency, including Microsoft Graph and Exchange Online modules.
Windows Server administration, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and certificate services.
Prior experience at a managed service provider or in multi tenant IT consulting.
Clear written communication. Documentation quality is part of the job, not an afterthought.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft certifications: MS-102, AZ-104, AZ-500, or SC-300.
Google Workspace Administrator certification or equivalent hands on depth.
Hypervisor administration on Hyper-V or VMware.
Firewall administration on one or more enterprise platforms.
Experience working within the remote monitoring, PSA, and endpoint security tooling typical of a managed service environment.
Experience in regulated environments subject to HIPAA, NYDFS Part 500, or SOC 2.
Experience leading Windows 11 fleet transitions.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent additional experience.

Pay: $98,000.00 - $111,506.41 per year
