Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Remote Tax Preparer, working as a 1099 independent contractor! This exciting role offers comprehensive training to help you develop expertise in tax preparation, compliance, and client service from the comfort of your home. As a vital part of our tax services, you'll assist clients with individual and partnership tax filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to tax laws. This position is perfect for motivated professionals eager to expand their skills in accounting, finance, and tax reporting while enjoying flexible remote work opportunities.

Duties

Prepare and review individual and partnership tax returns using tax preparation software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws
Assist clients in gathering and organizing necessary tax documents, including W-2s, 1099s, and other financial statements
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about their tax situations and answering questions promptly
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes affecting individual, corporate, and partnership taxes
Support clients with bookkeeping tasks using accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage to facilitate accurate reporting
Conduct analysis of financial concepts to optimize tax benefits and ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements
Collaborate with team members on complex cases involving corporate accounting or partnership tax expertise

Skills

Strong understanding of tax law, tax compliance, and tax return preparation processes for individuals and partnerships
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) and tax preparation software to streamline workflows
Excellent client communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly and build trust
Experience with financial sales, marketing strategies, and client acquisition techniques is a plus
Solid foundation in accounting principles, bookkeeping, and technical accounting practices
Analysis skills to interpret financial data accurately and identify potential issues or opportunities
High typing speed (10-key typing) for efficient data entry and document processing
Knowledge of corporate tax expertise, federal/state filing requirements, and analysis of financial reports
