Full Job Description

Works Closely With: VP of Sales, VP Marketing

As the VP of SEO Operations, you will be responsible for all marketing operations, ensuring goals and execution align with the broader company vision. This role demands an elite-level SEO practitioner: someone who has consistently ranked competitive sites at scale, understands every layer of search from technical architecture to content velocity to link acquisition and can translate that expertise into operational systems that deliver results across a portfolio of sites. You should be a top 1% SEO and marketing professional, SEO

You will lead all efforts to drive client results, increase MRR by +25% and scale delivery across SEO, web products and call generation. You will own the P&L on client accounts and build the systems and processes that take the business to the next level.

You will manage 50+ team members across 3 direct reports and work closely with the VP of Sales and VP of Marketing to align delivery with revenue growth and partner with the CEO on company strategy. This role has a clear path to significant growth for the right candidate.

Note: You must have dedicated SEO experience i.e. "Director of SEO" and dedicated leadership/executive experience to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end marketing operations across SEO, web products, call generation and additional marketing channels
Set the SEO vision and standard across all portfolios: you are the highest authority on search strategy in the organization
Drive client performance with a target of increasing MRR by +25%
Build and optimize SEO campaigns that generate measurable patient acquisition and call volume
Lead web product development: site design, UX, landing pages, conversion funnels and CRO
Own client delivery and retention: ensure every account is hitting performance targets
Partner with the VP of Sales to ensure operational capacity aligns with sales pipeline and new business
Lead outreach and PR initiatives that drive brand visibility and organic growth for all brands
Lead AI and automation strategy: identify, implement and scale AI tools across all service lines to increase output and reduce costs
Develop scalable SOPs, workflows and automation across all service lines
Analyze processes and workflows, making recommendations for improvements and implementing them
Provide in-depth reporting and analytics on performance, identifying solutions for underperformance
Lead the team to meet productivity, quality and revenue targets
Develop and retain top talent across all departments and retrain
Maintain transparent communication through department meetings, one-on-ones and regular updates
Stay current with SEO trends, algorithm changes, AI tools and healthcare marketing best practices
Uphold the highest ethical standards in all client work, team management and business operations
Promote a positive company culture, leading by example in a collaborative, high-performance environment
Work directly with the CEO on company strategy, vision and long-term growth

Skills and Qualifications

Previous VP-level experience or equivalent senior executive role in digital marketing or agency operations: required
10+ years of deep, hands-on SEO experience across technical, local, content and link building: you have personally driven rankings, traffic and revenue at a level that puts you among the best in the industry. This is the defining qualification for this role.
Proven track record of ranking highly competitive sites and sustaining organic growth at scale: not just managing SEO teams, but setting the strategy that wins
Complete command of the SEO landscape: algorithm updates, SERP feature evolution, entity-based search, site architecture, crawl optimization, schema, Core Web Vitals and emerging search channels (GEO, AEO, AI Overviews)
10+ years of experience in digital marketing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
Strong expertise in outreach, digital PR and link acquisition strategies
Deep understanding of CRO, UX and web design principles: you know what converts and why
Knowledge of web development principles: HTML, CSS, CMS architecture. You don't need to code, but you need to speak the language
Proven track record of scaling client delivery at a digital marketing agency ($5M+ revenue)
Demonstrated ability to build and manage call/lead generation systems with tracking and attribution
Experience owning a P&L: you have managed revenue, margins and operational costs
Proven ability to recruit, manage and lead teams of 30+ people
Experience leading AI and automation initiatives in a marketing operations context
Ability to interpret analytics, communicate results and formulate strategy for both executives and your team
In-depth knowledge of GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs/SEMrush, call tracking platforms
High ethical standards: integrity in client work, team leadership and business practices is non-negotiable
Healthcare marketing experience is a strong plus
CRM experience (HubSpot, Close, or similar) is a major plus
Entrepreneurial mindset: you think like an owner, not an employee
