Full Job Description

Job Summary:

Hatch Early Learning is rapidly growing its early childhood education sales force, and has openings in a few key territories, including the Northeast, where our solutions are particularly in demand.

Hatch is dedicated to igniting a love of learning in young children through innovative PreK– Grade 1 educational technology solutions. Our Account Executives are trusted advisors who combine deep knowledge of early childhood education with proven sales acumen to help districts, Head Start programs, and schools select solutions that improve student outcomes.

This role is about more than achieving quota it’s about advancing Hatch’s mission, running the right sales motion at the right time, and ensuring educators feel supported in every stage of their journey.

This opportunity is located remotely with up to 60% travel. Travel is required, as needed, to customer sites and to represent Hatch at conferences as part of their field responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Revenue Generation & Sales Motions

Own a defined territory (Head Start, LEA, or blended accounts) with clear revenue, pipeline, and coverage targets. A core priority is Hatch’s strategic initiative focused on penetrating the most critical public school districts where every Account Executive is accountable for driving penetration, growth, and long-term partnerships within these districts.

1). Execute across all sales motions:

· Land – Penetrate new accounts with all Hatch Solutions

· Expand – Upsell/cross-sell all Hatch Solutions

· Renew – Partner with CSMs to protect recurring revenue with strong adoption and early renewal conversations.

· Transform – Scale pilots into multi-site or district-wide rollouts.

· Apply MEDDPICC framework to tailor motions to the buyer’s stage, funding cycle, and hidden motive.

2). Discovery & Solution Alignment

· Conduct layered discovery that goes beyond surface needs to uncover metrics, funding drivers, and hidden motives (fear, security, power, approval).

· Translate discovery insights into solution alignment that addresses instructional impact, compliance with federal/state standards, and ROI justification.

· Navigate education funding sources (Title I, ESSER, state initiatives, Head Start grants) and link Hatch’s value to those streams.

3). Pipeline & Forecast Management

· Build and maintain a balanced, stage-accurate pipeline across Land, Expand, Renew, and Transform motions.

· Use the CRM with discipline: document MEDDPICC elements, track stage progression, and maintain 95%+ CRM data accuracy.

· Apply weighted pipeline formulas and velocity metrics to drive forecast predictability.

4). Collaboration & Team Alignment

· Partner with Customer Success Managers to co-plan calls, with reps leading discovery/demos and CSMs reinforcing adoption/proof points.

· Work with Marketing to customize campaigns that fuel territory pipeline (awareness for Land, case studies for Expand, success stories for Renew).

· Provide actionable feedback to Product and RevOps on customer needs, competitor tactics, and sales motion friction.

5). Objection Handling & Closing

· Anticipate and address objections tied to funding, procurement, political influence, or competing initiatives.

· Lead negotiations with confidence, ensuring pricing, terms, and commitments align to Hatch’s value story and delivery model.

6). Customer Advocacy & Retention

· Champion educator and district voices internally to ensure Hatch products continue to meet classroom needs.

· Collaborate with CSMs to drive adoption milestones, identify expansion triggers, and reduce churn risk.

· Develop customer advocates who provide referrals, testimonials, and serve as peer champions in their networks.

7). Standards of Mastery: Product, Presentation, and Platform Accountability

· Our sales teams are accountable to present Hatch to our customers and position solutions that drive customer success. To do this effectively, our sales teams must exhibit fluency and polish by driving their success in what is being asked of them.

Key Skills & Competencies
· Sales Motion Agility: Proven ability to shift between Land, Expand, Renew, and Transform motions with discipline.

· Education Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of early childhood/K–12/Head Start funding cycles, procurement processes, and compliance requirements.

· Discovery Excellence: Skilled in layered questioning that uncovers decision criteria, economic buyer influence, and hidden motives.

· Framework Mastery: Hands-on experience with MEDDPICC

· CRM & Data Discipline: Advanced HubSpot (or CRM) skills with emphasis on pipeline hygiene, reporting accuracy, and forecast reliability.

· Presentation & Storytelling: Skilled in tailoring Ignite solution demos to district priorities, using data and narrative to influence decisions.

· Objection Handling & Negotiation: Confident in managing budget, timing, and political objections in long-cycle sales.

· Collaboration & Influence: Effective partner to CSMs, Marketing, and Product; able to coach internal stakeholders on customer dynamics.

· Resilience & Grit: Ability to sustain engagement over multi-month procurement cycles and navigate competitive pressures.

Qualifications

· 3–5+ years of successful quota-carrying solution sales experience, in Early Childhood Education Technology.

· Demonstrated success running multiple sales motions within a single territory.

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

· Consistent record of meeting/exceeding quota in complex, multi-stakeholder deals.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record, and be able to travel independently, including navigating airports and other travel hubs

· Pay is DOE

Success Metrics

· Quota attainment across all sales motions (new revenue + expansion + renewal).

· Healthy pipeline with accurate stage progression and balanced mix of motions.

· CRM governance: 95%+ data accuracy, MEDDPICC completeness.

· Renewal/adoption rates within territory.

· Customer advocacy growth (references, case studies, referrals).

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods

· Working at a desk, computer, or in meetings. Driving long distances

2. Manual dexterity for computer-based tasks

· Ability to type, use a mouse, operate office equipment, and handle documents.

3. Clear verbal communication

· Speaking frequently with clients and internal teams, often on the phone or via video calls. Demonstrating products

4. Ability to lift and carry light materials

· Typically up to 10–20 lbs., such as laptops, marketing materials, or trade show items (if applicable). Reems of paper (for printer); Carrying samples or equipment (sometimes up to 30–50 lbs)

5. Mobility for meetings or travel (if required by the job)

· Walking to different offices or meeting rooms.

· Traveling to client sites, conferences, or trade shows (may involve carrying materials, standing for long periods)

6. Visual ability to read screens and documents

· Regular computer use, email, reports, etc.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
