The Opportunity
RKB Facility Solutions is looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to manage multiple fast-paced construction projects throughout the country. Our current construction work primarily includes retail construction, tenant improvements, remodels and larger facility repair projects.
This is a fast-moving construction environment where clients expect quick answers, proactive follow-up and projects that continue moving without sacrificing quality or standards.
You'll report directly to our Director of Construction and work closely with an Assistant Project Manager (APM). The goal isn't for your Director to run your projects for you. The goal is for you to own them, keep him informed and keep them moving.
You'll be responsible for:
- Managing multiple construction projects simultaneously from startup through completion
- Reading and working from construction drawings, plans and specifications
- Coordinating and managing contractors, subcontractors and vendors, including sourcing qualified vendors and obtaining pricing when needed
- Managing project schedules, budgets, deadlines, scope and requirements
- Preparing quotes and managing AIA and other construction documentation
- Communicating directly with clients and maintaining accurate information within client and third-party systems
- Recognizing potential problems early, developing solutions and taking action to keep projects moving
- Holding subcontractors accountable for quality, responsiveness and deadlines
- Keeping the Director of Construction informed without relying on him to manage your projects
- Working closely with and mentoring your APM as they develop toward a future PM role
- Traveling to project sites throughout the country as needed
Construction Experience Is Required
We're looking for someone who already understands construction and has experience managing construction projects.
You should be comfortable walking onto a job site, speaking intelligently with contractors, reading drawings, reviewing scope and pricing, understanding project documentation and recognizing when the work, timeline, price or proposed solution doesn't make sense.
You should bring:
- Previous experience as a Construction Project Manager
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and project processes
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, schedules and budgets
- Knowledge of construction documentation and project controls
- Strong computer skills and the ability to work comfortably in multiple online/client systems
- Familiarity with AIA construction documents
- OSHA 30 strongly preferred
We can teach you how RKB operates, but we are not looking to teach someone construction from the ground up.

About the Remote Environment
This is a remote position, but it is not a flexible-hours remote position.
Your regular schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. EST. During those hours, you're expected to be actively working and available from your home office just as you would be in a traditional office environment.
Construction doesn't always operate neatly within business hours, so occasional overtime and after-hours/on-call coverage will be required as business needs dictate. You must also be willing to travel to project sites throughout the country when needed.
