Induction Hardware is a fast-growing appliance brand on a mission to rethink what kitchen appliances can be. We design and build induction ranges, cooktops, refrigeration, cookware, and more — and as we scale, the back office has to scale with us.
We're looking for an organized, detail-driven Accounting Specialist to join our team in Reno, Nevada. This is a hands-on role with room to grow — you'll own the day-to-day bookkeeping, work shoulder-to-shoulder with our CFO and our outside CPA firm, and become the person who keeps our filings and renewals on the calendar and off the fire. If you like being the one who knows where everything stands, you'll like this job.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Track and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable — enter bills, prepare payment runs, invoice customers and dealers, apply cash, and keep both agings current
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping entries and keep the general ledger clean, coded, and up to date
- Work with our outside CPA firm and CFO on the monthly close — prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules, book the entries they request, and hit their deadlines
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts every month, and clear items rather than carrying them
- Prepare and file state sales and use tax returns
- Reconcile the marketplace tax reports to our books each month and document the facilitated-sales deduction on each return
- Collect, validate, and organize dealer resale and exemption certificates, and chase down the ones that are missing or expired
- Own our license and compliance calendar — Nevada State Business License and Annual List, City of Reno business license, registered agents, out-of-state annual reports, insurance certificates, and permit renewals
- Collect W-9s and W-8s when we onboard vendors, and prepare year-end 1099s
- Flag anything that looks wrong. You won't be making the call — but you'll be the one who notices, and that matters more than you'd think.
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of hands-on bookkeeping, AP or AR experience — or an accounting, finance, or business degree or coursework with some practical exposure
- Comfortable working in accounting software (QuickBooks) and in Excel
- Genuinely organized. This role lives on a calendar, and the calendar has real consequences — you should be the kind of person who sets the reminder before anyone asks
- A careful eye for detail. You'd rather find the eleven-dollar variance than explain it later
- Able to work well with outside professionals — our CPA firm will ask you for things, and being responsive and clear with them makes everyone's month easier
- Discretion with financial and vendor information
- Bonus: sales tax filing experience, multi-state or marketplace exposure, business license and permit renewals, or accounting at a company that carries inventory
No CPA required, and no public accounting background needed. We're looking for someone reliable and organized who wants to learn the rest.
What we're offering:
- $50,000-$60,000/yr
- Direct working exposure to our CFO and our outside CPA firm — this is a genuinely good seat to learn from
- Real breadth for one role: bookkeeping, close support, sales tax, and compliance all in one seat, which is unusual this early in a career
- Significant on-the-job training, and room to grow with a brand that's scaling fast
- Employee discount on premium appliances
- A team that takes the work seriously — and has fun doing it
