Doctors Office for Pets is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Manager to lead our small, close-knit team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys balancing daily operations, team support, and client service while helping the hospital achieve its business goals.
As our Hospital Manager, you will partner closely with the Medical Director to oversee hospital operations, support team development, and ensure an exceptional experience for our clients and patients. Because we are a small practice, this role combines leadership responsibilities with front desk support and day-to-day operational involvement. The ideal candidate is an adaptable, emotionally intelligent leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, making sound decisions, and contributing wherever needed to support the team and the hospital.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee daily hospital operations, staffing, scheduling, and workflow
- Support front desk operations, client communication, and service recovery when needed
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members while fostering a positive culture
- Monitor hospital performance, manage budgets, payroll, inventory, and key business metrics
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and applicable regulations
- Partner with the Medical Director to drive operational improvements and support hospital growth
- Address employee and client concerns with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment
Schedule, benefits and compensation**:
This is a full-time, hourly position averaging approximately 30 hours per week and is benefits eligible. Schedule flexibility is required based on business needs.
- Compensation: $28-36 per hour, for each hour worked*

Your Qualifications:
- 5+ years of business management experience required
- Veterinary or medical office experience is preferred
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust, navigate conflict, and lead with empathy
- Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication skills with a collaborative, servant-leadership approach
- Experience training, coaching, and supervising team members
- Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced, emotionally charged environment
- Proficiency in budget management and operational oversight
- Strong computer skills and adaptability to new systems
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
