Surgical Technologist / Medical Assistant

La Belle Vie Cosmetic Surgery Center – Tukwila, WA
Full-Time
Compensation: $29.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

La Belle Vie Cosmetic Surgery Center is an outpatient surgery center specializing in cosmetic surgery and gender-affirming chest reconstruction. We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our growing team in a unique dual-role position as a Surgical Technologist / Medical Assistant.

This position offers the opportunity to share operating room responsibilities with another experienced Surgical Technologist while also assisting with patient care in our outpatient clinic. We are looking for a dependable, compassionate individual with excellent communication skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

· Employer-paid Washington State Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) and Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P) registrations.

· Work in a specialty cosmetic surgery practice with a collaborative, team-oriented culture.

· Predictable schedule with no regular evenings or weekends. Most holidays off, with occasional weekend surgical workshops (approximately 3–4 per year) scheduled in advance.

Schedule:

· Clinic: Monday and Tuesday, typically 8:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (occasionally until 5:30 p.m.).

· Operating Room: Wednesday–Friday and the second Tuesday of each month, typically 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

· Surgical cases may extend beyond scheduled hours until the procedure is complete, the operating room has been cleaned, and instruments have been processed.

· Patients are also seen on surgery days for pre-operative and post-operative appointments, and the Medical Assistant assists with these clinic visits as needed.

· Schedules and duties may be adjusted as needed to meet patient care and business needs.

Responsibilities:

· Prepare the operating room, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures.

· Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the surgeon's needs during surgery.

· Assist with patient positioning and safety.

· Clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and process surgical instruments according to AORN guidelines.

· Room patients for pre-operative, post-operative, and follow-up appointments.

· Obtain vital signs, medical histories, and clinical photographs.

· Assist the physician with examinations and in-office procedures.

· Provide patient education and post-operative instructions.

· Document patient information in the electronic medical record.

· Assist with other clinical duties as needed to support patient care and workflow.

Qualifications:

· Active Washington State Surgical Technologist Registration required prior to start date.

· Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and infection prevention.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with Nextech or another electronic medical record system.

· Spanish-speaking is a plus.
