Legal Assistant/Paralegal - Insurance Defense

Burger, Meyer & D'Angelo, LLP

We are seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our insurance defense practice in Seattle, WA. We represent insurance companies in auto related liability matters and handle premises liability matters. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, has experience drafting legal documents accurately and efficiently, organizational skills, and ability to multitask. All applications will be kept in confidence. We have offices in California, Seattle, Oregon, Nevada, Texas, Illinois, Michigan, and Florida. We are open to hybrid, and remote depending on experience of the individual we hire.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting legal research and document review.
Manage legal case files, ensuring all documents are organized and accessible.
E-filing
Calendaring
Draft and proofread legal documents, maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Communicate effectively with clients and court personnel, demonstrating strong phone etiquette.
Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced law office environment.

Qualifications

Strong civil litigation experience with a focus on document review and litigation
Excellent communication and time management skills
Familiarity with document management systems and case management software
Ability to maintain phone etiquette and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
Experience in proofreading and document preparation

Compensation includes competitive salary, 401k, health benefits (for employee paid by Company), and scheduled discretionary bonuses. Salary depends on experience.
