Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join a growing public accounting firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with 5+ years of public accounting experience who is confident preparing and reviewing a range of individual and business tax returns. The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage client work efficiently during busy season while maintaining a high standard of service.

Duties

As a Tax Manager, you will:

Oversee, manage, prepare and review income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts.
Develop tax-planning strategies, projections and recommendations for clients.
Conduct technical tax research and remain informed about current tax laws,regulations and industry developments.
Research and respond to correspondence, examinations and notices from federal, stateand local tax authorities.
Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters, potential risks, planningopportunities and changes in tax policy.
Manage relationships with senior client leadership and high-net-worth individuals.
Identify tax-planning and advisory opportunities within new and existing clientrelationships.
Support marketing, networking and business-development initiatives.
Mentor, support and review the work of junior tax professionals.
Help maintain the firm’s high standards for technical accuracy, client service andprofessional excellence.Requirements
5+ years of tax experience within a public accounting firm
Strong experience preparing and/or reviewing 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S tax returns
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
CPA or EA designation preferred, but not required
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance
Experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProSystem fx, or similar preferred
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
A minimum of eight years of progressive tax accounting experience.
An active California CPA licence.
Previous experience with a national, regional or established public accounting firm,preferred.
Strong experience preparing and reviewing complex individual, corporate,partnership, estate and trust tax returns.
The ability to manage relationships with senior client management and high-net-worthindividuals.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong technical research, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple client engagements anddeadlines.
An established book of business is desirable but not required.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
