Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for Industrial construction projects, ensuring profitability while maintaining competitive pricing. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings, managing project budgets, and leveraging estimating software will be crucial to our success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects, collaborate with clients and contractors, and play a vital role in project planning and cost control.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs.
Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to develop detailed project estimates.
Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs from blueprints and technical drawings to determine project scope and cost components.
Manage project budgets by estimating costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services while identifying potential cost savings.
Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
Prepare detailed bid proposals, including comprehensive spreadsheets and cost breakdowns for client review.
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and design teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and specifications.
Monitor ongoing projects for cost control, updating estimates as needed based on changes or unforeseen conditions.
Review construction contracts to understand scope of work, terms, and conditions affecting project costs.
Maintain accurate records of all estimating activities, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the bidding process.

Experience

Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and other construction management tools.
Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and estimating material requirements from blueprints.
Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, and pricing strategies for large-scale projects.
Excellent negotiation skills with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve optimal pricing outcomes.
Familiarity with construction site experience and understanding of construction management processes.
Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel), Microsoft Office suite, and construction drawing review for accurate estimation purposes.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project scope, costs, and schedules.
Knowledge of contracts, project management principles, and construction industry standards is highly desirable.
