Full Job Description

Final Mile Logistics/Transportation company has an immediate opening for a highly skilled, motivated, and hands on senior Director of Operations to direct and lead the company’s operations in Trucking and Final Mile Home Delivery in the Mid-Atlantic region (Maryland and Virginia).

This position is responsible for overseeing, leading and directing all daily logistics and supply chain operations, maintaining high performance standards for all operations, coming up with solutions for our clients, and developing and implementing senior management’s strategic initiatives.

This is excellent opportunity for someone with proven managerial and supervisory skills and a track record of working alongside strategic partners. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to both execute on the company’s senior management’s strategy while ensuring that the organization is constantly improving.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide effective leadership and direction to cross docks within the assigned region, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and accountability
Drive and maintain the Company culture, purpose, and core beliefs through hands-on training, effective onboarding, and selection of new members / business partners within their assigned region.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the local and regional client representatives within the region, ensuring clear communication, understanding of operational needs, and alignment of services to exceed expectations
Monitor and evaluate the operational performance of each profit center within the region, implementing strategies to optimize productivity and quality of service
Ensure adherence to client SOPs and operational standards across all sites within the region, driving consistency in processes, procedures, and service offerings
Conduct regular onsite performance reviews and analysis of key metrics, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as necessary to meet or exceed targets.
Support the professional development and growth of site managers and operational staff within the region, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance skills and capabilities
Travel to all assigned cross docks on a regular basis based on the operational demands of each location
Conduct and/or participate in regional client/customer meetings as needed
Ensure local site leadership coverage when needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Supply Chain logistics or Transportation experience

3-5 years of Management and Supervisory experience in supply chain logistics operations, paired with strong business acumen and proven track record of coaching and building high performing operational teams

Strong analytical skill set with experience in using data to drive decisions

Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and time management skills

Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced high growth and rapidly changing environment

Knowledge and understanding of P&Ls

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

50% Travel
