Description:
We are hiring CNC Machinists at multiple skill levels (Machinist I, II, and III) to join a precision manufacturing team in Bristol, RI. These are full-time, permanent positions with opportunities for candidates ranging from early-career machinists to highly experienced CNC professionals.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating and/or setting up CNC mills, lathes, turning centers, and grinding equipment and will take pride in producing high-quality, tight-tolerance components.
Depending on your experience level, you may be responsible for everything from operating CNC equipment and performing basic inspections to independently setting up complex machines, troubleshooting machining issues, interpreting GD&T, and mentoring less experienced machinists.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities will vary based on experience and skill level and may include:
- Operate CNC mills, lathes, turning centers, and grinding machines.
- Set up CNC equipment with minimal supervision, depending on experience level.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and work instructions.
- Load and adjust tooling, set tool offsets, and verify programs through simulation or dry runs.
- Install and align fixtures, vises, and raw materials.
- Adjust speeds, feeds, offsets, and other machine parameters to maintain quality and productivity.
- Perform first-article inspections and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMMs, SmartScope, or similar equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot tooling, programming, machine, and process issues.
- Maintain required dimensional and visual specifications and identify non-conforming parts.
- Understand and modify basic G-code/program operations as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate setup, tooling, inspection, and production records.
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, CNC Programming, and other machinists to improve processes, quality, and efficiency.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), first article inspection (FAI), process transfers, and continuous improvement initiatives as applicable.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety, quality, environmental, and operating procedures.
- For senior-level machinists: mentor and train less experienced machinists and serve as a technical resource for complex machining issues.
Qualifications
CNC Machinist I – Entry/Junior Level
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant machining experience or training may be considered in lieu of education.
- Approximately 1+ year of CNC machining experience preferred.
- Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or grinding equipment.
- CNC machining training or NIMS certification is a plus.
- Basic ability to use precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and basic drawings.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn.
CNC Machinist II – Experienced Level
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience with mills and/or lathes.
- 3+ years of CNC setup experience, including multi-axis equipment and/or live tooling.
- 2+ years of experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong blueprint reading and understanding of machining principles.
- Working knowledge of G-code.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot machining and setup issues.
- Experience using precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, SmartScope, CMM, or similar equipment.
- Ability to perform first-article inspections and make machine/setup adjustments to achieve required tolerances.
CNC Machinist III – Senior/Expert Level
- 10+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Advanced experience with CNC milling, turning, and grinding.
- Strong CNC setup, troubleshooting, and process optimization skills.
- Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
- Ability to independently machine complex, tight-tolerance components.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and train less experienced machinists.
- Experience supporting NPI, FAI, process transfers, or continuous improvement is a plus.
- Experience with high-performance plastics, composites, or other specialized materials is a plus.
- NIMS certification or equivalent advanced machining credentials is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
In addition to competitive hourly pay, eligible employees may receive periodic bonus payments or an annual bonus targeted at up to 5% of hourly wages, based on company and individual performance. Bonus payments are variable and are not guaranteed.
