Busy neighborhood sports bar and family restaurant seeking to hire a kitchen manager to cook and lead the line of other cooks during dinner rushes.

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and ensure the smooth operation of our food service establishment. In this role, you will oversee daily kitchen activities, manage staff, maintain high standards of food safety and quality, and drive operational excellence. Your leadership will inspire a team committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences, whether in casual or fine dining settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise, management skills, and passion for hospitality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food preparation and presentation in line with company standards.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices.
Oversee food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
Lead staff training and development initiatives to enhance team skills in cooking techniques, food handling, POS systems (such as Aloha POS and Micros POS), and customer service.
Coordinate shift management, including scheduling staff coverage, managing break times, and ensuring smooth service flow during peak hours.
Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems and perform cash handling duties with integrity.
Conduct performance evaluations, interview prospective team members, and foster a positive team culture focused on collaboration and excellence.

Experience

Proven management experience in quick service or fast food restaurants, casual dining, or fine dining establishments with a strong background in kitchen management.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary standards, and food safety regulations.
Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.
Experience with inventory control systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly preferred.
Prior experience managing budgets, analyzing profit and loss statements, and implementing cost-control measures.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to train staff, develop talent, and foster a motivating work environment.
Familiarity with catering or banquet operations is a plus; experience in managing hospitality teams across multiple service formats is desirable.
