RECON Engineering & Construction is currently seeking experienced Pipe and Structural Welders for industrial maintenance, shutdown, and construction projects throughout California.
We are looking for dependable individuals with strong industrial welding experience who take pride in safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform SMAW (Stick), FCAW (Flux Core), and GTAW (TIG) welding on pipe and structural steel
- Complete pipe fabrication, fit-up, installation, and repair work
- Perform structural welding on industrial steel components and supports
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, weld maps, and specifications
- Weld in multiple positions including elevated work areas and confined spaces
- Assist with material preparation, layout, and equipment setup
- Maintain high-quality welds that meet company and client standards
- Follow all company and client safety procedures and work practices
- Work alongside supervisors, fitters, labor crews, and QA/QC personnel to complete projects safely and efficiently

Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of industrial welding experience preferred
- Experience with:
- SMAW pipe welding
- GTAW root welding
- FCAW structural welding
- Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and weld procedures
- Ability to pass weld test and fit-for-duty requirements
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, shutdown schedules, and travel if required
- Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and procedures
Preferred Certifications
- Current welding certifications
- AWS Certification
- ASME IX Certification
- MSHA Certification
- TWIC Card
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- NCCER Certification
- Confined Space Experience
- Refinery, mining, power plant, or industrial maintenance experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at heights
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work inside confined spaces while wearing required PPE and respirators
- Ability to work extended shifts and shutdown schedules as needed
