Northern Metal Products is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Laser Set-Up/Operator.

Northern Metal Products is a manufacturer of custom solutions for both the Retail and OEM industries. Founded in 1959, NMP is a private, financially sound, and growing company with diverse capabilities fabricating wire, sheet metal, tubing, and wood.

This position would be responsible for daily set-up and operation of sheet metal lasers and tube lasers.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate sheet metal lasers and tube lasers.
Ability to work with closes tolerances.
Experience with CNC controls.
Follow all safety rules and regulations.
Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regards to all of the essential duties and responsibilities.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Requirements:

Able to understand and execute basic written and verbal instructions given in English.
Read/interpret drawings and shop papers.
Ability to accurately read and measure with standard measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, height, and radius gages.
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail—able to spot and correct issues before they become problems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative production team

2nd shift hours: 3:30pm – 12:00am Monday-Friday OR 3:30pm – 2:00am Monday-Thursday

Required Experience:

Minimum of 2 years CNC set-up/adjustment experience; loading programs, adjusting part offsets, adjusting tool offsets and adjusting programs.
