Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and 'hands- on' Production & Quality Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and uphold the exceptional standards behind The Ultimate Blackout Shade. Based in Dallas, Texas, this role oversees production processes and quality assurance, ensuring defect-free assembly and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily production operations to deliver high quality 100% blackout shades on time and within budget.
- Monitor and improve quality control systems to ensure defect-free assembly of every UBlockout product.
- Lead and inspire a team of 15+ production and quality staff, fostering a commitment to precision and teamwork.
- Optimize production workflows using digital manufacturing tools, minimizing delays while maintaining product integrity.
- Perform quality audits, address inconsistencies, and drive corrective actions to perfect our shades.
- Partner with supply chain and design teams to ensure materials and processes support our sleep-enhancing mission.
- Oversee stock control to maintain efficient inventory levels and prevent production disruptions.
- Implement waste minimization strategies to reduce costs and promote sustainable manufacturing practices.
- Work with customer support team to respond to customer feedback and improve systems for enhanced product satisfaction.
- Ensure production team is responsive to customer demand and manages unit economics to drive efficiency.
- Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly reporting rhythms to track progress and align with company goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and sustainable practices.
- Analyze production and quality metrics to provide insights and enhance operational performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production and/or quality management
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in quality assurance (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma) and defect-free production processes.
- Skills and experience in digital manufacturing (e.g., automation, Industry 4.0 technologies, or smart factory systems).
- Skills in recruiting and managing an assembly workforce to build and maintain a high-performing team.
- Proficiency in digital manufacturing software and strong skill in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and report effectively.
- Requires hands-on style including capability to understand, operate, and train for each task in the production process.
- Must be able to work on-site in Dallas, Texas.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on and proactive style
- Experience in e-commerce business
- IT Skills (Hubspot, MES )
- Experience in defect free, single piece flow, assembly methodology.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Passion for sustainable manufacturing, waste elimination and sleep-focused innovation.
- Experience working with Customer Support Team
What We Offer:
Competitive salary range: $85,000 - $100,000 annually, based on experience.
