Your Role at CinemaStory

CinemaStory is seeking an ambitious, driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team. This role suits a proactive, relationship-focused individual with a genuine passion for the creative industry. The BDR will lead inside sales, generate new business, and cultivate client relationships throughout the sales cycle. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, a hunter's mentality, and solid understanding of B2B, B2C, and D2C sales processes.

Key Responsibilities

Prospecting: Identify, research, and generate new leads for the sales pipeline.
Outreach: Initiate conversations and build relationships with new and existing leads to generate interest in next steps, such as consultation, discovery, or contract meetings.
Appointment Setting: Schedule prospect meetings, initially with senior sales leadership (CEO) support and eventually independently, for discovery, consultation, and contract discussions.
Discovery: Lead discovery meetings with new and existing prospects to uncover pain points and identify how our products and services can serve as solutions.
Consultations: Guide warm inbound leads through strategy and creative direction discussions aligned with their desired project outcomes.
Pitch Development: Research and craft solution-based proposals that deliver strong ROI for prospects, using our budget and pitch deck templates alongside initial creative strategy and design.
Nurture: Manage lead and client relationships throughout the entire sales cycle — from initial outreach through to a scheduled meeting, post-meeting follow-up, post-pitch follow-up through close, post-close onboarding handoff, and post-project wrap-up to measure results, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for additional solutions.
Contracting: Oversee the contracting process alongside a project Producer, ensuring signed agreements (when applicable) and preparing the Producer through an internal handoff covering client notes, budget considerations, and initial pitch direction.
Onboarding: Lead the onboarding process for new clients, introducing them to their project Producer and reviewing scope of work and standard operating procedures to ensure a smooth transition from sales to production.
Client Relationship Management: Provide consistent relationship support throughout all phases of the sales cycle and post-project to strengthen client retention and overall experience alongside the project producer.
Market Research: Conduct in-depth research on market trends, competitors, and sales/marketing tools to inform prospecting and sales strategy.
Collaboration: Partner closely with the marketing team to develop effective outreach strategies and contribute insights to the sales pipeline including developing networking events and workshops at our studio.
Brand Ambassadorship: Represent CinemaStory at industry events and through professional organizations to expand our network and business development opportunities. Travel for networking events, trade shows, and client meetings both locally and nationally as needed.

Measures of Success

Conduct outreach to 20–25 prospects daily.
Schedule 2–3 qualified first-time appointments weekly.
Acquire 2–3 new clients monthly.
Maintain accurate records of all lead generation and sales activity in our CRM (e.g., Google Sheets, Monday.com).

Compensation

Base salary + commission

Qualifications

2–3 years of experience in B2B sales, advertising, media, or related creative services.
Demonstrated success generating leads and closing deals within a custom product environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in cold calling, prospecting, and conducting in-person client demonstrations.
Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage a sales pipeline effectively.
Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs and Sheets) and Canva.
Willingness to travel throughout DFW and nationally as needed to build client relationships.

Growth Timeline

Weeks 2–3: Complete hands-on training and a sales boot camp to master CinemaStory's services and sales process.
Months 2–3: Demonstrate success in acquiring new clients and managing accounts.
Month 12: Opportunity to advance to a Senior Business Development role and build/lead a sales team, based on performance.

Additional Information

This role is based out of our office/studio in Richardson, TX, with regular opportunities to attend networking events, trade shows, and on-site client presentations. Part-time remote work may be available and will be discussed during the interview process, contingent on meeting performance metrics. Willingness to travel for trade shows and client meetings in other states is required.
