Full Job Description

Versant Diagnostics is a rapidly growing Laboratory/Pathology company focused on Digital Anatomic Pathology and is leading the revolution to improve the precision, accuracy, and speed of diagnosis.

Position Summary
The FP&A Analyst will serve as a key member of the finance team, responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales performance across the organization. This role will provide actionable insights to senior leadership, private equity sponsors, and operational management to drive decision-making, optimize growth, and enhance financial performance. The Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring timely, accurate, and meaningful analysis of revenue trends, sales productivity, and financial performance in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance Tracking
Monitor, reconcile, and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales activity across multiple service lines and facilities.
Prepare dashboards and KPIs to measure sales productivity, growth drivers, and revenue trends.
Maintain data integrity across systems (EHR, CRM, billing, and ERP platforms).
Financial Planning & Forecasting
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting processes with detailed sales and revenue analysis.
Assist in the development of annual operating plans and long-range strategic forecasts.
Identify variances versus budget/forecast and partner with operational leaders to explain key drivers.
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare recurring sales and revenue reports for management, board meetings, and private equity sponsors.
Deliver ad hoc analyses to support growth initiatives, pricing strategies, and sales performance optimization.
Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate trends, risks, and opportunities.
Additional Duties as Assigned
Business Partnership
Collaborate with operations, revenue cycle, business development, and accounting teams to validate results and align-on assumptions.
Provide decision support for executive leadership with data-driven insights.
Partner with PE sponsors to provide transparency into business performance, investment returns, and key sales initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus).
3–5 years of FP&A, corporate finance, or sales analytics experience (healthcare or private equity–backed company experience strongly preferred).
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; proficiency with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
Strong understanding of revenue recognition, healthcare reimbursement, and sales performance metrics.
Proven ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with ability to interface with C-suite and private equity stakeholders.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Competencies

Working knowledge of GAAP, including revenue recognition and expense matching principles, to support accurate financial planning and reporting.
