Full Job Description

Firm Overview

Cleveland-based law firm dedicated to representing families in nursing home abuse and neglect lawsuits throughout Ohio. We are passionate about holding nursing homes and long-term care facilities accountable and providing compassionate, client-focused representation.

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our growing team. This role is primarily remote, but candidates should expect that occasional in-office time will be required as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Manage litigation files from intake through resolution, including onboarding, discovery, trial preparation & settlement.
Review and organize medical records and facility documentation.
Draft correspondence, pleadings, and discovery requests/responses.
Manage calendars and dockets
Coordinate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and courts.
Maintain case management and deadlines using Actionstep, including prioritizing case tasks
Handle filing in state and federal courts.
Assist with settlement documents, lien resolutions, and subrogation matters.
Keep clients informed on case status, proactively and in response to inquiries.
Manage Legal Assistant while maintaining ownership and accountability of your cases.

Minimum Requirements

3+ years of paralegal experience (nursing home litigation, medical malpractice, or personal injury preferred).
Strong familiarity with obtaining medical records in healthcare-related litigation.
Experience with subrogation processes.
Proficiency with Actionstep or similar case management systems, and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, etc.).
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a client-centered approach.
Case management skills and ability to properly prioritize your time.
Tech-savvy — everything we do is paperless and cloud-based.

Preferred Skills

Trial preparation support (exhibit lists, witness files, trial binders).
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining close collaboration with attorneys and managing assistants.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Growth-oriented, accountable, and open to feedback.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
