Location: Remote or in the field (Birmingham area)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Total Salary: $90,000 -120,000
Base Salary: $60,000–$80,000 (Experienced sales professionals have the potential to earn significantly more based on performance)

Position Summary

The company is seeking an experienced New Business Development Representative to drive growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for building strong B2B relationships, prospecting new clients, and expanding the company’s customer base through strategic sales efforts.

The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional who thrives on building relationships, handling rejection, and consistently generating new opportunities. This position requires someone who is self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain new business relationships within an assigned territory
Prospect and generate new leads through cold calling, networking, email outreach, social selling, and relationship building
Identify opportunities within manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, and distribution centers
Conduct in-person visits with potential customers to understand their needs and determine business fit
Create and deliver sales proposals in collaboration with project management teams
Manage the full sales process from initial contact through contract award
Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity within CRM systems
Utilize sales strategies, including the Sandler methodology, to improve prospecting and closing effectiveness
Meet daily and weekly activity goals related to calls, appointments, proposals, and customer engagement
Stay informed on industry trends and market opportunities
Utilize AI tools and technology to improve sales productivity and customer engagement

Territory & Travel Requirements

Territory covers approximately a 3-hour radius from Birmingham, AL
Local travel is required with occasional overnight travel
Must be comfortable visiting active construction sites, industrial facilities, and outdoor environments
Must have the physical stamina to walk through large facilities, including non-air-conditioned manufacturing environments

Required Qualifications

2+ years of documented B2B sales experience with a proven track record of success
Demonstrated sales performance history, such as meeting/exceeding quotas, commission records, performance reviews, or sales achievements
Experience prospecting and developing new business relationships
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to manage rejection and remain motivated by new opportunities
Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills
Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRM systems, and sales technology
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Experience selling into manufacturing, industrial, construction, or related industries
Existing network of industrial or manufacturing contacts
College degree preferred but not required
Candidates currently employed in a sales role are highly preferred
