Job purpose
Tiny Boxwoods Productions Culinary Lead care deeply about our culture and is responsible for all food production. Maintains highest professional food quality and sanitation standards while providing and assisting Executive Chef with effective leadership of the kitchen staff.
Duties and responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The primary job duties and responsibilities of being of a Culinary Lead include but are not limited to the following:

Planning and directing food preparation in a kitchen.
Ability to manage and direct a team of cooks and dishwashers.
Ability to take inventory.
Assist with ordering.
Ability to work when called upon regardless of regular schedule.
Keep an eye out for problems that arise in the kitchen.
Seizing control of a situation at a moment’s notice.
Communicate professionally on the daily with employees.
Maintain health code standards.
Maintain all checklists.
Aide Executive Chef in creating daily specials and new menu planning.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen on a daily basis.
Enforce all Tiny Boxwoods Productions handbook standards.
Model the Tiny Boxwoods Productions culture at all times.
Clear communication skills with both management teams and staff.
Consistent communication via daily entries in Manager Logs.
Meet deadlines and completes projects as assigned.
Provide incentives for staff members to go above and beyond the expectations.
Demonstrate teamwork.
Must be self-motivated and eager to assist wherever needed.
Maintain consistency in a fast-paced environment.
Close attention to detail.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications: Tiny Boxwoods Productions require the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the position of Culinary Lead

Texas Food Handlers certificate
Excellent customer service skills
Good memory
Flexible availability in scheduling
Capacity to multitask
Ability to work as part of a team
Sanitation certificate
Degree in culinary or equivalent
1 year of managerial/ related duties

Working conditions: The incumbent will be working in a restaurant commissary setting, in the kitchen and dish area. Potential hazards include but are not limited to cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position is responsible for managing and supervising the daily tasks of back of house staff.
Physical requirements: The incumbent is required to constantly move around the kitchen. Incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires the ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
