Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or a related field
Three years of professional-level experience in analytics, decision support, report writing, and program development in public or private industry; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong proficiency with analytic tools and software, such as Excel (spreadsheet software), Python or R (programming languages), SQL (query languages), PowerBI or Tableau (data visualization tools), and ArcGIS (mapping tools)
Ability to learn new technologies and assess emerging tools to recommend solutions
Skill in analyzing complex problems and providing clear, actionable solutions
Excellent research skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and present relevant data through recommendations, summaries, reports and presentations
Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications
Ability to work independently, as part of a team, or as a team lead, and meet deadlines
Proven organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities
Strong oral, written, and data visualization communication skills
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners
Working knowledge of public administration principles and standards
Basic supervisory and training skills
Customer service skills, tact, and courtesy

Who We Are

Chesterfield Public Library is seeking a full-time Senior Administrative Analyst to join our team of innovative, forward-thinking professionals dedicated to delivering engaging information services to a vibrant and appreciative community.

Duties

Perform complex work in strategic, technical, financial, and performance-management areas
Manage systemwide data and analytics, providing decision support and reporting to library leadership
Develop and maintain data capture infrastructure across branches and departments
Identify, collect, store, manage, analyze, and deploy data critical to internal operations and external reporting
Create tools and reporting mechanisms that support strategic planning, performance evaluation, staffing decisions, budget analysis, collection management, community services, outreach, marketing, and program development
Build high-quality tools, dashboards, and reports that highlight trends and insights
Present analytic findings in dynamic formats and help leaders and staff understand and apply these measures
Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess progress at the department, branch, and system level
Provide confidential research and analysis support to leadership, teams, and committees
Perform other work as required

This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work; light to moderate lifting is required; and, regular, predictable attendance is required. Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phones, printers, and light traffic); ability to work in a confined area; and the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
