Full Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day accounting operations and support our growing business. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of ongoing financial processes while working collaboratively with leadership and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and well-organized financial records in QuickBooks
Track, categorize, and reconcile expenses
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a regular basis
Prepare weekly and monthly financial and expense reports
Monitor spending and identify trends or areas for potential cost savings
Process and manage payroll and payment records
Ensure accurate tracking of contractor and employee payments
Prepare documentation and reports related to:
1099s
W-2s
Year-end and tax-time reporting
Maintain clean books to support timely tax filings
Learn and follow internal financial review and verification processes, including Excel-based workflows (training will be provided)
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all accounting activities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
Solid understanding of payroll, expenses, and basic tax reporting
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
High level of integrity and discretion when handling financial data
Ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines

Nice to Have

Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses
Familiarity with operational or service-based companies
Experience working with external CPAs or tax professionals
2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Proficiency in Excel (experience with advanced functions or macros is a plus)
