SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT

Location: Hybrid

Job Type: Full-Time or Seasonal

Work Schedule: Hybrid (in-office and remote). During busy season, this position is primarily in-office to support collaboration and client deadlines. Typical schedule is 3 days in person two day remote.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Tax Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has prior public accounting experience, enjoys building client relationships, and is committed to producing high-quality work.

In this role, you will prepare a variety of tax returns, assist with tax planning projects, research technical tax issues, perform light bookkeeping duties, and work alongside experienced CPAs to help clients achieve their financial goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare federal and state individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, fiduciary, and nonprofit tax returns.
Prepare tax workpapers and supporting documentation.
Review client financial information for completeness and accuracy.
Communicate with clients to request information and answer routine tax questions.
Research federal and state tax issues.
Assist with tax planning and consulting projects throughout the year.
Perform light bookkeeping duties, including maintaining client records and assisting with reconciliations as needed.
Work directly with managers and partners on client engagements.
Identify opportunities to improve processes through technology and automation.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards.
Perform other accounting and tax-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
Minimum of two tax seasons of public accounting experience preparing individual and business tax returns required.
Strong understanding of federal income tax principles.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Commitment to providing exceptional client service.
Experience with Lacerte Tax software is a plus.
Experience with QuickBooks Online, SafeSend, SurePrep, Karbon, or other cloud-based accounting software is a plus.
