Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Land Survey CAD Technician to join our surveying team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing precise survey drawings, maps, and schematics using advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software. Your expertise in land surveying data collection, drafting, and technical analysis will support a variety of projects, including topographic surveys, construction layout surveys, ALTA surveys, and legal descriptions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful development projects.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed survey drawings, plans, and schematics utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and Carlson.
Assist in processing survey data collected from field operations involving total stations, GPS surveying systems, LiDAR, and 3D scanners.
Collaborate with surveyors to interpret field notes and ensure accurate translation of field data into digital formats.
Support construction staking efforts by creating precise layouts based on engineering plans and legal descriptions.
Conduct drafting of topographic maps, utility locating schematics, and land boundary layouts for various projects.
Analyze survey data for accuracy and consistency using GIS tools like ArcGIS and perform data collection for land surveying and topographic surveys.
Operate surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS units, level instruments, and hand tools to gather field data efficiently.

Requirements

Proven experience with CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and Carlson.
Familiarity with survey equipment operation including total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, laser scanners (LiDAR), and data collection techniques.
Knowledge of legal descriptions, construction layout surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking processes.
Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with surveyors and project teams in a fast-paced environment.
