Full Job Description

Safety Manager
Richmond-based road construction company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to support and enhance our company-wide safety program. This role works closely with the Safety Director and leadership team to ensure compliance with safety regulations while promoting a strong culture of safety across all operations.

This is a hands-on position involving fieldwork, training, inspections and collaboration with teams across job sites, asphalt plants, shops and corporate offices.

Key Responsibilities
· Implement and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, DOT, MSHA, EPA

· Conduct jobsite inspections, audits, and risk assessments

· Lead incident investigations and recommend preventive actions

· Develop and deliver safety training programs

· Monitor employee behavior and coach on safe practices

· Maintain safety records and documentation

· Support environmental compliance efforts

· Provide safety guidance to field crews and staff

· Collaborate with claims managers and legal teams

· Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement

Qualifications
· 2+ years experience in construction, fleet or safety-related role

· Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA regulations

· Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Certifications (CHST, ASP, CSP) preferred

· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
