Willow Oaks Country Club is seeking a hands-on professional with a 2 year culinary degree and prior management experience. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is creative and organized with experience in both banquet preparation and a la carte dining. The position reports to the Executive Chef.
Sous Chef responsibilities include training, menu planning, food preparation, kitchen safety & sanitation, cost control, and staff supervision. We want someone who can provide a consistent and exemplary member experience while managing costs and vendor relationships. Fostering a culture of respect, professionalism, and teamwork is also vital to success in this position.
Candidates must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays because we are open 364 days a year. Willow Oaks Country Club is a member owned club founded in 1957 with approximately 1000 member families. The facilities include an 18-hole golf course with practice facilities; outdoor & indoor tennis courts; fitness facilities, and a swimming pool. Dining facilities include a formal dining room and lounge; member grill and bar; banquet rooms; several private rooms in the historic main house and a pool snack bar. The club is located in the heart of Richmond on the banks of the historic James River.
