Full Job Description

Position Overview

We seeking an experienced Municipal Court Paralegal with strong knowledge of Municipal Court procedures (traffic/criminal). MUST BE FLUENT IN SPANISH.

This is a high-responsibility role requiring someone who understands municipal court operations and can independently manage case movement from intake through disposition and closeout.

This is not an entry-level position. Municipal Court (traffic/criminal) experience is required.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage Municipal (Town) Court cases from intake through resolution
Calendar court dates and confirm listings with court staff
Communicate directly with court administrators regarding adjournments and scheduling
Coordinate plea offers between attorney, prosecutor, and client
Maintain accurate and timely case updates in case management system
Prepare court calendar reports for attorney
Track discovery requests and supporting documentation
Confirm fines, payment terms, and compliance requirements
Ensure proper file closeout after disposition
Maintain organized digital and physical records

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years Municipal (Traffic/Criminal) experience
Working knowledge of:
Traffic violations
Municipal criminal/quasi-criminal matters
Plea negotiations
Court scheduling procedures
Experience communicating directly with court staff
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
Strong organization and follow-through
MUST BE FLUENT IN SPANISH
