Full Job Description

Yaklin Ford is seeking an experienced automotive General Manager to lead our dealership in the Lake Jackson/Richwood market.

This is a true working GM position. We are not looking for someone who wants to sit in an office, attend meetings, and manage solely through reports. The right person will be actively involved in the daily operation of the store—desking deals, working with customers, helping close business, managing inventory, and covering sales or finance managers when needed.

We are especially interested in someone who has successfully operated in a small to mid-market dealership, where the GM must be resourceful, accessible, and willing to step into whatever role is necessary to help the store succeed. Ford experience is strongly preferred, but we will consider candidates with a proven record of success with another franchise.

Responsibilities

Lead the overall sales, finance, service, and parts operations of the dealership
Desk deals and remain actively involved in the sales process
Work directly with customers
Cover sales and finance managers on scheduled days off or when needed
Recruit, train, develop, and retain strong managers and employees
Establish clear performance expectations and hold departments accountable
Manage new- and used-vehicle inventory, pricing, aging, and turn
Work closely with the Dealer Principal to develop and execute the store’s operating plan
Maintain strong relationships with Ford and ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements
Improve customer satisfaction, employee accountability, and overall store performance

Qualifications

Previous experience as an automotive General Manager, General Sales Manager, or highly successful Sales Manager ready to take the next step
Proven ability to desk deals, structure transactions, and manage variable operations
Experience in a small to mid-market dealership is strongly preferred
Ford dealership experience is preferred
Demonstrated success recruiting, developing, and holding a team accountable
Strong leadership, communication, and customer-resolution skills
Willingness to remain actively involved in the daily operation rather than managing from the sidelines
High level of integrity, urgency, and personal accountability

This position is best suited for an experienced dealership operator who enjoys being on the floor, working deals, developing people, and taking personal responsibility for the store’s results.
