Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen, assisting with food preparation for the restaurant, weddings and private events to ensure that our meals are prepared to the highest standards. This position is perfect for individuals looking for a part time position who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a love for the food industry. As a Prep Cook, you will work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to create delicious meals that delight our customers.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Follow recipes and instructions from chefs to ensure consistency in food preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
Support the cooking staff during meal service by preparing items as needed.
Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management when stock is low.
Participate in kitchen team meetings to discuss menu changes and improvements.
Labor intensive work, must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for the duration of the shift.

Experience

Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is required.
Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations is essential.
A background in culinary arts or related training is a plus.
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques in meal preparation.
