Founding Lead Life Skills & Executive Function Coach
Fiddler & Tide Life Skills Center
Post-secondary Transition Program
A Program of Beaufort Learning Collective
Position Overview
The Lead Life Skills & Executive Function Coach is more than an educator, they are a mentor, coach, advocate, and champion for young adults as they continue learning beyond graduation.
At Fiddler & Tide, we believe learning is lifelong. Independence is not achieved overnight; it is developed through meaningful relationships, purposeful instruction, guided practice, repetition, and authentic real-world experiences.
Working with a small cohort of 10 students or fewer, our Lead Coach builds meaningful relationships with each participant while providing individualized support tailored to their unique strengths, goals, and needs. They play an essential role in helping young adults strengthen executive functioning, build practical life skills, prepare for meaningful employment, and gain the confidence needed to live with greater independence.
This position is ideal for someone who believes every young adult deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Someone who understands that independence is attainable with the right instruction, encouragement, and support in place. Someone who believes in possibility, values relationships, and is passionate about helping an often-underserved population build meaningful lives.
Our Educational Philosophy
At Fiddler & Tide, we believe learning doesn't end with graduation - it simply enters a new chapter.
Every young adult deserves the opportunity to continue growing, discover their strengths, and build the confidence, skills, and relationships needed to live a meaningful and increasingly independent life.
We believe mastery is not perfection. Mastery is developing the confidence and ability to use skills independently in everyday life. It is built through purposeful instruction, guided practice, repetition, encouragement, and authentic real-world experiences.
Our program is intentionally designed around small cohorts of 10 students or fewer, allowing coaches to build meaningful relationships while providing individualized support tailored to each participant's strengths, goals, and needs. We celebrate progress over perfection because growth looks different for every learner.
We believe confidence fuels independence. By meeting young adults where they are, maintaining high expectations, and providing the time, coaching, and opportunities they need to succeed, we help participants build lives filled with purpose, connection, and possibility.
We're looking for educators who share these beliefs and are passionate about helping young adults discover what they are capable of achieving.
We are looking for educators who believe:
- Learning is lifelong, and graduation is the beginning of a new chapter—not the end of education.
- Every young adult has unique strengths, abilities, and unlimited potential for growth.
- Young adults learn, think, and experience the world differently, and those differences are strengths to be understood, valued, and celebrated.
- We empower rather than enable. Our role is to provide the coaching, support, and opportunities young adults need to build confidence and independence - not to do for them what they are capable of learning to do for themselves.
- Teaching extends beyond the classroom. Some of the most meaningful learning happens while preparing a meal, managing a budget, navigating the community, developing workplace skills, solving everyday challenges, or celebrating a personal success.
- Strong relationships are the foundation of meaningful learning. Trust, consistency, encouragement, and high expectations help young adults achieve more than they may have believed possible.
- Families are valued partners, and collaboration is essential to supporting each young adult's success.
- Meaningful employment, lifelong learning, community engagement, and purposeful relationships are essential components of a fulfilling adult life.
