Full Job Description

Be apart of the team that received Connect Savannah's 2026 Best Breakfast AND Bakery of the Year! Bread & Butter, Auspicious Baking Co.'s full-service, brunch focused restaurant.

Current Opening: Prep Cook, Full-Time (Wed-Sun 9-5), located on Whitemarsh Island (80/Island Expressway & Turner Creek Bridge), $16-20 starting AND 6% Tip Pool**

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety, and will be a committed to delivering high-quality meals to our guests. We are a "from scratch" "scratch kitchen" restaurant—we use raw, whole, and fresh ingredients instead of relying on pre-made, frozen, or processed shortcuts. Everything from sauces and stocks to dressings and desserts is made directly in-house.

As the Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in food preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for the line, so service runs smoothly and menu items meet our high standards. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace and work under the direction of our Executive Chef and Sous Chef.

Responsibilities:

Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring as per recipes and standards.
Cooking menu items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods, ensuring consistent quality and taste.
Follow established recipes and plating guidelines.
Set up and stock your assigned station with all necessary supplies, including proper storage of food items.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef & Sous Chef.
Maintain cleanliness and comply with all food safety guidelines.
Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces and equipment.
Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Communicate and assist with inventory and kitchen equipment maintenance.
Participate in catering events as needed, assisting with meal preparation.

Skills:

Have a great work attitude.
Ability to work effectively as a team and autonomously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
Culinary experience with proficiency in knife skills and meal preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
General restaurant or kitchen experience required.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and experience in catering services is a plus.
