Metro Plumbing, Heating & Air – Chattanooga, TN
Metro Plumbing, Heating & Air is offering a 12-week Plumbing Technician Development Program for individuals who want to build a long-term career in residential plumbing service.
This program is designed to train future Plumbing Service Technicians who are skilled at diagnosing plumbing problems, communicating clearly with homeowners, and recommending solutions.
This is a technician development program, not a licensed plumber apprenticeship.
Training is primarily hands-on and field based, including ride-along experience with experienced technicians and limited classroom instruction.
Our training program runs in cohorts that begin approximately every 12 weeks.
Applicants may be selected for the next available class or contacted for future classes later in the year.
During the 12-week program, you will learn:
-
Residential plumbing fundamentals
-
How to diagnose common plumbing issues
-
How to communicate clearly with homeowners
-
How to explain plumbing problems in simple terms
-
How to present repair and replacement options
-
How to build trust with customer
-
Hands-on training through ride-alongs with experienced technicians
Most training occurs in the field, allowing you to learn directly from experienced plumbing professionals.
Successful participants will be prepared to move into a Plumbing Service Technician role with our company.
Participants in the program will spend one day per week working in our warehouse.
This is an important part of the training process and helps participants:
-
Learn plumbing parts and materials
-
Understand how materials are stocked and organized
-
Deliver parts to technicians in the field
-
Meet technicians and observe real job situations
-
Gain a better understanding of how service calls operate
This hands-on exposure helps trainees learn the tools, materials, and workflow used by our technicians every day.
